The Big Beautiful Bill Act was passed and signed into law today.
And the propaganda has begun.
The administration used the Social Security Administration to send an email out that promotes tax breaks that 65% of Social Security recipients already get—a publicity stunt disguised as policy.
Republican lawmakers who pledged to protect Medicaid and SNAP, capitulated without a fight, and are now enthusiastically backing the bill that slashes both.
ICE is now the largest federal law enforcement agency by budget.
Between the dismantling of essential government agencies, ICE terror raids, and this dumpster-fire legislation, it feels like we’ve entered into a new Dark Ages.
And as of July 4, 2025, we’re just 165 days into Trump’s second term.
I don’t know about you, but I’m exhausted.
That’s why—on this birthday of the United States—I’m choosing hope.
Hope that the Constitution still has teeth.
Hope that my neighbors remember the deal we made: liberty, equality, accountability.
Hope that science, reason, and better people will rise.
Keep hoping.
Keep speaking up.
Keep bringing the good trouble.
Keep on.
